A graffiti tag is like a signature for a person or a group of people. They use this tag to either make an art piece or to claim the art they created. What we did is we got into small groups and created our own graffiti tag. Then your group thinks of a group tag that has something that everyone has in common. what my group decided to do is to combine our horses names, mine is Charlie ad hers is Totem so we combined them and came up with Tarlie. We then decided to draw ours on black paper to make our colors pop. Then we created our background which can be whatever we wanted and it could be different from our groups.
for my responding challenge I chose the them of how social media can make people jealous. in our world many people ae on social medias such as, twitter, instagram, facebook, kik, and many ohers. the most popular social medias are twitter and facebook. In fact, they have a record of 1.23 billon and 241 million monthly active users. more information check out this website. techtimes.com. there are many different ways people are influenced by other people images. I am showing you just one way people feel. For my presentation challenge I chose the theme of abandoned places. There are a lot of places that have been abandoned around the world, most people think of abandoned places are gross, dark, cold and scary, but there are many abandoned places that are beautiful. I find those places very interesting and I hope to visit some of these beautiful places in the future. i found these pictures from smithsonianmag.com and the picture taken for the wonderland amusement park is David Gray. For my 2D project I drew on a canvas. The first thing I did was bought a canvas. Then I brain stormed what I wanted to paint. After that I made the mistake of trying to paint the words in stead of writing them with a sharpie, so after that a wrote over the paint with a sharpie and cleaned up the edges of the letters. After that I used some metallic colored pencils then I colored the back round in blues, greens, and yellows. After that I decorated the corners.
My installation project was a cloud made out of balloons and cotton balls. I also made my cloud half grey and half white, i did this because I know some people who struggle with self harm or with depression, so I wanted to show that not everyone's "cloud" is the same some are darker than others and we need to notice this and help these people with the darker cloud. We could save lives just by talking to these people with the darker cloud. It's amazing how such a simple act can do so much. We all have this power to make a difference. Why do artist follow or break from established tradition? I believe that some artist break the formed established tradition to make new limits to art.
Step One: You must create a sketch of an idea(s) of the print of want to make.
Step Two: Shade the back of your sketch. Step Three: Get a block linoleum. Step Four: Put the shaded side of your sketch then trace you sketch on to your block of linoleum. Step Five: When done tracing your sketch on to your linoleum ( you may also thicken your lines if you need to) you need to get a stop block and a carving tool. Step Six: place your linoleum on the stop block then get your carving tool and begin to carve! but make sure you keep your free hand behind the other hand that is using the carving tool. If you don't you may cut yourself with the carving tool. Step Seven: Once you are done carving you are able to begin to "paint". What you do is pick a color of printing ink then you take a small spoonful of it then you put it on a tray, then you use a a brayer to spread the printing ink on the tray. Step Eight: Then cover the linoleum that you carved your print in with the color of your desire. Step Nine: After you cover your print with printing ink press the side that has the ink on it on to a piece of paper do not worry if the first one doesn't come out very well. It takes some practice just remember to press down the whole linoleum evenly. Have fun Printmaking! This is my logo design, I designed it this way because I like tribal prints. I also like the color orange.
